Lucent Networks Chinese Campuses

HONG KONG, CHINA, 1999 OCT 18 (NB) -- By staff, IT Daily. Lucent Technologies
[NYSE:LU] has announced a contract with China Huayu Development to construct
China's nationwide vocational and educational campus information system.

The contract is valued at more than US$3 million and will see Lucent install its
Systimax Structured Connectivity Solutions (SCS), Power Sum Solutions, and Cajun
Campus data networking switches and services to support multimedia education
across 200 campuses.

The project will cover all education management information systems in China. The
total number of the information outlets is 100,000, with an average of 200-300 outlets
in each campus.

The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

BR, I suspect that that is the case. Actually, after seeing the beating that the rest of the techs are taking, I don't feel as badly. There are some serious hits being taken across the sector today. Brian

aren't you a little out of hand attacking reporters for reporting? do you have any evidence to suggest that the writers were paid to attack the company? if you are so sure that this is all nonsense, then why don't you just go to the bank and buy some more LU and look at this as a gift? longer term, if you are so sure of LU being a spectacular company worthy of such valuation, then, by all means, buy buy buy.
