CPI numbers OK, Dell not... 08:33 ET Economic Report : CPI rose 0.4% in September with the core rising 0.3%. An expected surge in tobacco prices added a tenth to both total and core -- so the core ex-tobacco was up a modest 0.2%. This is in line with market expectations and a relief to the markets. A 3.2% decline in Housing Starts will also help the stock and bond markets today. 08:31 ET Market Indication : S&P futures rally on in-line CPI report. Contract trading about 7 pts above fair value.
