Well, here's a real shocker... People up my way often say krik too... mainly farm people though. I don't mean some kind of "backwoods folk", but the same people who would tell you that they were out plowin' the back-forty this morning.

One word that always sounds weird to my ears is "roof". Up here we say is like "rr-ew-ph"... but whenever I hear it said on some 'merican home improvement show, it's "ruff"... same word my dog uses when she barks at a squirrel in a tree...

Virginians solved the creek/crik problem by calling them "runs".
