Here's another - John D Rockefeller. Not for creating one of the largest energy conglomerates - Standard Oil - but for creating one of the most influential philanthopic organizations of the latter 20th century. Am not sure, but didn't they donate the land so the UN could be in NYC? and havn't the Rockefeller interests (including Chase Manhatten Bank) undergirded the growth of capitalism around the world?

Believe me, the Rockefellers of this world had a lot more to do with the downfall of communism that Reagan. He was just a "spokesman"... as are, in the end, almost all the politicians. He would never have had a forum if "someone" hadn't wanted his script to be heard.

How about Gorbochev? (sp?)
