JDS Uniphase Acquires Ramar Corporation Business Wire - October 18, 1999 16:18 SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--October 18, 1999--JDS Uniphase Corporation (Nasdaq: JDSU and TSE:JDU) announced the acquisition of Ramar Corporation, a developer of lithium niobate-based integrated optical components. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Ramar will be integrated into the JDS Uniphase modulator business, which produces lithium niobate modulator components for the telecommunications industry.
