Over the last four quarters, Barrick produced 3.7 million
ounces and may get close to 4 million ounces for 1999.

Newmont is #1 in North America at 4.0

Hi Investork-ex!

"Later on in the conference call, they said they would experience a slight increase in margin at prices above $600/oz, but this would be insignificant in relation to the increase in cashflow from their unhedged annual production at the higher prices. "

Do you believe that? If Barrick is not responsible for covering the margin on a position that is BILLIONS in the red, who is? I don't think that Santa Clause trades futures, so someone will have to cough up a boatload of cash if gold goes to $600.

Buyer beware!
