uel Dave: Guess much will depend on the balance of actual earnings and warnings and which company does what.

In any event, a Gorilla such as the Q tends to march to the sound of its own drum - not completely impervious to overall market movement but seems to be less affected by "the market" or other stocks than a non gorilla is.

While I am strictly long term buy and hold person generally and for the Q specifically, I would think that Voltaire, Jim Willie and others are right that the Q will probably not go much below $190 (at the outside) tomorrow and any future day (prior to a split).

And may well go up by the close of business tomorrow, despite what any other stock does.

>> Although Dell is only a Prince, what impact will this have on the Gorillas such as Qualcomm tomorrow re: Dell's
warning.

The dell news could impact techs short term, though a weak quarter has been rumored for some time. This will be the 3rd quarter in a row that dell will print a disappointing earnings report, and it wouldn't surprise me to see it move to the low 30s again. Overall, the boxmaker sector has been troubled since cpq's problems became apparent.

If I weren't fully invested, I would be buying Q right now, not because of short term possibilities, but because of the long term inevitability of their success.
