Hmmm.. about that "out" and "oot" thing.... just about everyone that I know says "about" as "ah-bow-tah"...with the "bow" said like "bow-wow"....

I remember arriving at a friend's place in California a couple of years ago to be told,....

"You don't sound AT ALL like a Canadian... you don't say a-boot!"

"What?"

"A-boot!! Everyone knows that Canadians say a-bout like a-boot!"

"No way!!! I've NEVER heard it said that way!!"

BTW, he said "yeah" like "yawwwwww"... and to think that they think WE talk funny up here!!.... Sheesh....

Out. Owt. Ouwt. The Tidewater accent fools some people with this word. I occasionally have people ask me if I'm from Canada, but I know I say "ouwt" and not that goofy "ooot" sound.

Besides, who ever heard a Canuck say "y'all"?
