quote.bloomberg.com THE INTERNET ANALYST NEWS - FOCUS ON AMERICA ONLINE (NYSE-AOL): Ted Broomfield Analyst, Soundview Technology Group Business Editors NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 1999--America Online (NYSE-AOL) on October 6 introduced the latest version of its access software, version 5.0, which will allow subscribers to connect to its service and surf the Web faster and more easily. The updated software has new features that interact with hand-held devices. The Internet Analyst(SM) spoke with Soundview Technology Group's Ted Broomfield about the largest Internet Service Provider. The company continues to develop its user interface with value-added features. The wireless deal forged in June with 3Com's (Nasdaq-COMS) Palm Computing unit will allow America Online's (NYSE-AOL) software to be bundled into Palm's hand-held devices. It will soon market its You've Got Pictures feature - which allows customers to easily receive photos, order reprints, and send photos via the Internet - in conjunction with Eastman Kodak (NYSE-EK). It also has consistently lobbied the government to regulate AT&T's (NYSE-T) cable plant. We expect that America Online and AT&T will reach some form of network agreement that will go into effect soon after its exclusive deal with Excite@home (Nasdaq-ATHM) ends in June 2002. Other Internet companies that Mr. Bloomfield has followed are: America Online (NYSE-AOL), Prodigy Communications (Nasdaq-PRGY), Mindspring Enterprises (MSPG), Earthlink Network (Nasdaq-ELNK) And Onemain.Com (Nasdaq-ONEM).
