john...re: "dell's perfect days"

reality has set in......the samson like locks of the "perfect" supply chain have been sheared by the delilah of a taiwan earthquake.

been trying to point it out for months, but hey, how can you not believe "mikey", to do so would be disrespectful. bto/jit only works in the best of times, and even in the best of times it becomes more difficult to maintain the model. as the model nears perfection it becomes totally dependent on the supply chain. the supply chain runs the model. a whole country(japan)learned this lesson years ago. not even "mikey" can control others.

"direct from dell" has been applauded as pure genius......no more then a rewrite of "theory z"............

it's a new world for "mikey".......now we will see how much of a "wunderkind" he truly is.......no more right place, right time opportunity..........still a great company, but not stellar, unless something changes........the earthquake revealed the flaw.

more important, "mikey" is banking on the prc as his second largest market in five years........i guess he can change a whole ideology.....perhaps he knows more then hammer and eaton........

my question is: how can "mikey" deny supply chain problems last week......and meredith warn today????

hope they are good at damage control.....guess they aren't going to buy ibm this week...

just some miscellaneous ramblings...ed a.
