re false busies--The aftereffects of a flood in the Rochelle Park station, perhaps? Our phone went out last week; BEL said repairs were backed up 4 days.

Best,
JS

Frank,
re. your query on service interrupts (60ips--seconds??). I don't know about Rochelle Park, which John referred to in the Floyd aftermath. Rochelle Park, I thought, was a T fixed line station that was flooded and knocked out service to a good number of homes in New Jersey, somewhere.

But as to PCS, yes, I have had reliable service from one of the Big 3 interstate carriers, aside from a dearth of cell site coverage in too many of the Greater NYC burbs, including my home calling area. But on Friday last, I could not get through to any call in NYC or elsewhere, as I got the fast busy (I would have put the interrupts at c. 3-4 per second). I never did get through until about 7:30PM. I attributed the fails to too many wireless customers desperately calling their brokers as the markets and particularly the Naz were plunging that day <gg>.
