According to the American Healthcare Association boomers are between 34-52. The baby boomers are the generation born between World War II and the early 60's. They form the largest American generation, 78 million people or 30.8% of the U.S. population. It is estimated a baby- boomer will turn 50 every 7.5 seconds for the next decade

Not sure where you got your figures
Nothing wrong with leggy blondes on the islands, JW, wouldn't call that sordid, but I'll bet you get bored and start some business down there or come back up north!

<OT>Baby Boomer Demographics: Start January 1946 thru 1964. These are children primarily born to those who participated in World War II. The largest cohorts peak in size around 1953-54. So as a group we are 35 to 53 in age. There is a large difference in the older group (remembering Kennedy, Beatles, Watergate Scandal etc.) and the younger group but we represent 29% of the population in the U.S.

Hope this helps. Now back to the Q recesses. Not long yet.
Sharon, about as old as a boomer can be.

Harry Dent has written lots on the boomers and their impact on the market looking forward. The Great Boom Ahead. The Roaring 2000s. The Roaring 2000s Investor. I recommend reading these in one of Jim's preferred locations, (Mediterranean, Caribbean, or other great resorts) to get into the mood of spending those bucks we're socking away now.

The boomer investment philosophy is Harry Dent. Also the boomer generation extends to 1964.

JW,
Have enjoyed your posts but disagree with two recent points of view:

1. The last "boomer" class was born in 1962-3.

2. I've subscribed to TheStreet.com for about four months now and while I'm no trader I have enjoyed Cramer's perspective and insight. He's a perpetual bull and so am I.

We may be wrong but we're hopeful.

Mike
