Dieter - I sincerely don't believe the sell off is just driven by institutions seeking liquidity. The sell-off is far beyond that - and not commesurate with other stock behavior in the industry. It is my experience, that in such situations, 90% of the time you have some "bad news" out there that is poisoning the stock.

Having said that, I don't have the faintest clue as to what that could be.

Finally - I could be wrong. This could be one of the 10% of cases where the sell-off is unconnected with any nefarious reasons.

Not knowing NOVL well enough, I cannot narrow it down any further. My opinion is based purely on trading patterns - and 9 times out of 10, trading like the kind in NOVL, says "something's rotten".

I figure, all the knowledgeable NOVL posters here, are in a far better position to hypothesize on what (if any) the bad news may be.

Regards,

Morgan

Dieter, your right on target, institutional investors dont enjoy a drag on their portfolios, and Novell has certainly been that over the past year. "Sir Drake" confirmed my feelings that wall street DOES know whats going on inside the company, its not good from their perspective and a billion in cash (if its really still there??) is an old bromide at best! It seems like perhaps all the talent on this thread should focus on directing the many wise observations and suggestions discussed to the CEO and Bd. of Dir.......as STOCKHOLDERS that expect results and stock value!!!!!!! With copies of correspondence to the major institutional funds that hold Novl stock! Babbling about what Microsoft does or dosn't do dosnt seem to affect the Novl stock ? Or am I missing something.. F. Smart made a good point recently...........Novl needs some major ass kicking NOW, not just a hand full of sand in the face!!!!!!!!!!! Regards, Waldy
