This bit took a while to sink into me -- according to this BBS post, the difference between the PC266 and PC2100 standards is that the latter includes support for VC. This drastically increases our chance of seeing DDR VCM SDRAM (or maybe they'll call it VC2100). This is really a neat thing -- if you can get your hands on memory that fast, you can probably laugh your way past all the regular DDR SDRAM and DRDRAM folk, because you'll undoubtedly have the fastest memory around!
