David, I do follow TLAB. You are right. Good company, solid earnings record. It is entirely possible that this is an attempt to prey on the weak.

I'm not saying this is what has happened with this at all, but I could see a scenario where someone gets a list of stockholders. Identifies the small holders, runs that against a set of zip codes to maybe filter on most likely neighborhoods or some such, then sends off a solicitation for a carefully worded "free ride" on these shares. Then turns immediately around and hedges with options any solicitations that are accepted.

If you work free calls into any hedging scheme I think you would have to make money.

All of which begs the question that if someone could conceive such an operation, why wouldn't they apply themselves to making money without using such deception. So I really don't think it likely something like that is going on here. But never say never when it comes to stock schemes is my motto.
