I can't believe this! The Case of the Disappearing Post! I responded to Peach's query, posted it, then went on. When your message arrived, I was shocked to discover that my reply to Peach had vanished! Anyway, a junco is more commonly called a snowbird; it is a fat, cute little bird, about the size of a finch, with gray top and wings and a white breast. Winter only, it departs around the middle of April. I saw the first one of the season at one of my birdbaths today.
