I think they watched the way Apple stock behaved----it came back strong last week and is still pretty strong. Apple should hold up well in an uncertain market. That is why i believe Dell did the preannouncement-----they did not want to just meet the 20 cent estimates since that would not provide any spark for further run up. They want to change the company image back to a great growth company and image might actually help in sales as well. IMHO, might be a great buying opportunity.
