Hi Clint,

>>It will be interesting to hear what CPQ, IBM, GTW, HWP, and AAPL have
>> to say tomorrow morning.

AAPL in their CC stated that memory/component costs are increasing and hence they have indeed increased the price of their computer offerings. I hope CNBC gets its writers to read and understand the entire press release before opening their mouth. AAPL had decided to cancel all orders that were placed before the price increase but due to public outrage have rescinded the price increase on orders already placed but haven't changed anything for new orders. But CNBC is reporting as if they have backed off the price increase for new orders also.

HWP has already indicated that sharp component price increase will hurt their bottom line. Probably they will sneak in price increase in their next model roll out.

CPQ has also cited shortage of parts but hasn't commented the impact on bottom line as far as I remember.

IBM... it will be a + because they are component supplier but as a PC seller they were already loosing money so if they have improved their manufacturing efficiency it may have zero effect on their bottom line.

No comments from GTW yet..!

Later,

Suresh
