Great Thread, Joe!! Wish i'd asked you first how to fix sounds instead of enduring puter silence for months. I still leave it silent for earpops & doorbells, only want to listen to CEO interviews or wavs by choice... manually switching Speaker On for that, then Off again.
Anyway... fixed speakers sound recently by serendipity, found the need to uncheck a mute X on volume in properties,
it works til 3 days later it's silent again!
What do you think makes the settings reset like that? With a teenage daughter constantly listening to wavs & concert webcasts, there must be plenty of competing auto-download audio programs in there: could that be it?.
To fix it, couldn't find again how to do so except by searching for "volume" in Help Index and voila!...
But it gets on my nerves!
Browser settings/isp's get disrupted sometimes... got 3 isp's (the evil MSN Empire is one of them) plus Netscape so i guess it's a miracle any of it gets along.
Have learned the hard way it's best not to call up Netscape or RealNetworks when on MSN or IE....that'll Do It To It Everytime... Big Bill don't like them Companies.
Is there any way to fix these settings so they won't change on me again without my instructions?
Thanks 4 sharing UR Xpertise, appreciate it.

Joan
