CC, Wow you have investigated this topic, it must be a concern to you. What is a few to the Creator of the Universe? IMO a few could be more than what we can comprehend. From my understanding they still can not imagine how many galaxies there are. God used the stars as a revelation to Avraham as to how many would be saved. Matthew 7:14 I believe the Lord is referring to Judaism and only a few, (the Patriarchs) were able to find the door at that time but many where able to find it thru Yeshua when he came to release them after His sacrifice. Now all who trust Yeshua can find the door with his light to guide them. Luke 13:24 This discussion was right after He described the Kingdom of Heaven as a large growth in 2 parables. Therefore I believe he is saying to not rely on the law alone (the strait gate) for many will fall short that are trying to come by the law but in verses 28-29 He says that many will come from the North, South, East, and West and will come in by faith. Therefore I see this as an encouragement and warning instead of judgement. 1 Peter 3:20 Is referring to the flood and not eternal damnation. Revelation 3:4 States that few have (if any) not stumbled. Then He goes on to say that they can and will overcome thru Him. Romans 2 14: For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) Here it is saying that God will determine the heart of each person with the Word of God or without it. However, once they have heard about the truth of God then they are accountable for their decisions and ONLY GOD is the worthy judge of what they do with it. If I were able to tell him how to create the earth and people then I could question him in his judgements of his people he breathed life into. Since I am so clueless and basically depraved by comparison to this great light I accept His judgement to be pure and trust that my sons are able to find love and great mercy from him as I have. I pray He will bless you with His love and mercy, Nancy
