Isnt that weird that no matter how many years the investors, the partners, the media, the industry, the customers, the employees themselves have said that NOVL just doesnt know how to translate superior products into industry excitement and market dominance.

I would have to guess that a fundamental conservative culture suppresses this required aggressive market finesse. It is well known that NOVL has a deep set of Mormon roots. Maybe this makes Novell's nature too nice and not aggressive enough? Just a wild hypothosis.

I have met a ton of Novell staff over my 14 years of working with Novell and for the most part they always give me the impression that dont want to brag about their solutions. In fact, on most occassions I have out-marketed them on their own technologies and solutions. Its that pure "I BELIEVE Energy" that many NOVLers miss. There are a few clear exceptions that I can mention who have always impressed me as people who exude this pure energy to those they meet, but they are few and far between.

I dont know - it does bug me that NOVL is too nice, too conservative, and does not generally like to brag openly about what they have to offer.

An example of this relates to our discussions about how NOVL Executives muzzle NOVL employees from posting on boards like these, and other open mediums.

Ohh well, I have waited too many years to see a significant change in this limitation in NOVL as a company. I would be extremely surprised if NOVL ever breaks out of its Marketing Message dilemma that the entire industry knows ohh so well.
