I think we need at least a nickel over expectations, and probably .08 over to spark any significant run. I may be wrong, but I feel that Microsoft management is the smartest in business. They are so skilled in managing their stock price and gauging the market, they will tailor their number and their statements to get precisely the result they've predetermined, be that a rally, flat, or selloff. Is this thought way off base?

Your 'thumb rule' seems reasonable. Further, one could possibly use it for profitable investing. Thank-you.
