MUTT AMERICAN PIE

I was proudly of French descent (or was that decent French?). I was born on the third day of the third month (and WAS third generation French). Over dinner one night I found out I was no more than a Mutt American. Baked to perfection, sliced apple pie.

Words carefully chosen. Her mental thesaurus shuffled at a frenzied pace. Treasured? No. Redundant. Admired? No, not sentimental enough. Revered? No! Too majestic, too aristocratic sounding. Cherished? Ahhh yes! Cherrrrished. Still, she was about as subtle as a jackhammer.
