Which totally reinforces the "theory" that CUBE decoders just work a "little better" when used with CUBE encoders. Darn, I hate when that happens (yes!).

The problem was not necessarily an encoding problem, rather it was part of the data layout of the disk, something about putting data all the way out to the rim that exposed some player "deficiencies" or so the story goes. Which could mean it in the DVD loader mechanism.
I don't believe there has been a clear definition of the problem.

Not all models having troubles are Zoran based:
Sony 7000 series (LSI??)
Samsung 709, 809, 739 series (Cube)
Panasonic 110, 120, 310 series (MEI)
Emerson DVD2000 (???)
Zenith DVD2200 (Cube)
GE DVD Players (???)
Toshiba SD-3109 (Zoran)
Pioneer DV-500, DV-414, DVL-90 (STM)
Yamaha C900 (Cube??)
