Mine will do chores, with much nagging, like fold and put away a load of laundry, or put a load in the washer, or clean off the dining room table and put a load of dishes in the dishwasher. I think if I, myself, were a better housekeeper, they would do more, but my housekeeping is sporadic, I admit. I try to get them to do chores WITH me, to make it cooperative, so I can watch what they are doing, and make suggestions. But mine are a lot older, too, 11 and 14. This past weekend they actually cleaned their rooms, with much nagging, but they did it. Finally having separate rooms meant they couldn't blame the other one for the mess.
