I have not collected, although my wife used to do so some before she met me. It is a big commitment, and she tired of worrying over the bottles. If one does not drink much or entertain a lot, it is hardly worth it...We used to have professional reasons for throwing a big wine and cheese party, and would buy cases of wine: German moselles, mostly ausleses; beaujolais; some Tokay, some port, various sherries; mostly dessert wines, in other words. Only the German wines might have been much worth storing, and usually we could find them "drinkable" at the store....

<<About the only cocktail that I every drink is gin and tonic. >>

Back in '83 we had a duck blind in the river. The night before opening day some of us went drinking in Peoria until the wee hours. I was drinking gin and tonics. The next day I kept smelling gin and really didn't want to. Then I remembered we had brushed the blind with juniper bushes.
