My grandmother made exceptional fruit pies. Her crusts were outstanding because she use to make a pie every day!!!

At one time, banana cream was a favorite. But her coconut cream pies were outstanding.

She used lard to make her crusts. She's in her 90s now so she doesn't make very many pies.

She makes everything from scratch. I never liked meringue very much though and she would put meringue on her pies.

At one time, I use to make a Quiche every week. I made the crust from scratch. The crusts were very good. When we moved here I stopped making Quiche, and I've never been able to repeat my past success with crusts!!!

I no longer try!! :(
