donald: I agree and stated such in an earlier posts. I think the rotation continues, but now with a downward bias.

I still think we will see rates and equities going south, but maybe in a staggered manner. If there is going to be a crash, it will occur at lower levels. If the Market gives up a crash, more than likely there will be a BTD mentality that will set up another!

LG

The market was set up to crash 10/19...

but it didn't; now it's setting itself up not to crash...so it probably will...<g>

Don, are you trying to play the sector rotation? If one is very familiar with a particular sector, then it should be possible to predict a move in that sector, but since we can't be experts on everything, I wonder if there are some tricks we can use to get an overview and see where the money is moving next on a short-term basis.

This might be considered off topic, but I don't think so. If the market is going around and around instead of up or down, then we want to be able to anticipate the next turn. There has been some discussion of prospective sectors lately, and I appreciate that.

I've always been a sector investor. I try to pick up long-term sector trends based on fundamentals, but lately I've been confused by this short-term sector rotation, in which every new piece of news seems to produce a big over-reaction, either positive or negative. Since there are a lot of people on this thread who specialize in calling the short-term moves, I thought I'd throw out this topic and ask how we can predict short term sector rotation.
