I think you make an interesting point about the Bauhaus, and also about the founder of IBM...By the way, I saw a small Joseph Albers exhibition at the Guggenheim once, and although it sounds somewhat ridiculous and obsessive continually to overlay colored squares, they were actually wonderful, and created quite delicate effects in the contrasts of shades and colors....
