-- [B] US Equities Options: MSFT out-of-money calls active -- Bridge News--Chicago, Tuesday, Oct 19 Out-of-the-money Microsoft Nov calls have traded heavily before this afternoon's earnings release by the software giant. Generally, buying interest in bullish out-of-the-money calls would suggest investors think the company will at least meet estimates, with the bias toward a rally before the Nov expiration, but in this case, the interest could point to thoughts of a near-term bottom in the stock after the recent downturn. A call option is out of the money if the option's strike price is above the stock's current price. MSFT was down 2 1/4 at 85 5/8. Analysts surveyed by First Call look for the company to report earnings of 34 cents per share, 17% above last year's 29c.
