John,

Ever notice how the price of gasoline goes up within seconds after any oil
"shock", regardless of what is in the pipeline or inventory? Same crap, and I guess the typical reaction in a commodity
market.

No lie. One refinery explosion in Richmond/Martinez, CA this year and the price of gas goes up, and stays up, 30 cents a gallon in the Bay Area. What a crock.

Tony

Re- <I guess the case could be made
that higher PC prices will reduce 4th quarter volume, but I think its pushing reality.

And what would all the analysts have to talk about if PC prices started to INCREASE?>

John,
If they raise a PC price from $ 899 to $ 1,050. or from $ 1699.00 to 1950.00, don't you think market will continue to buy ? PC prices have been driven too low and its time for the market to go up, and they can attribute it to memory or other factors. I don't think the market will refrain from buying because of 8-10% increases. They drove the price to low and boxmakers are not making enough margin.
My opinion.
