I just finished listening to the conference call. Tom Siebel, said that the Vantive/Clarify buy outs have - in his mind - effectively removed them from the competitive environment. At least they are much less of a factor going forward than they were in the past. Oracle and SAP have been touting their CRM product since 1995 and they still haven't delivered. By the way, PSFT just reported and the stock is down in after market trading. Siebel said that the Peoplesoft/Vantive coupling will be 'challenging' for their respective managements to say the least.

this is the natural result of two things:

1) maintenance fees and renewals increase as the company gets older. (counted as part of services)

2) As the company's footprint expands the demand for sebl delivered services increases.

Sebl grew licenses more on a year over year basis than the total license revenues of their largest competitor. Largest competitor being Clarify or Larry's liars depending on whom you believe.
