When even democratically elected politicians routinely go back on their promises, it is simply foolish to expect a military ruler to keep his word!

Oh it's a life but 'I have my own agenda',Chandrababu Naidu.

'The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister believes he can transform his state into an economic powerhouse. His biggest challenge is to infuse in the people the same degree of self-confidence.'

Opposing views.

A mini-India model
Naidu has shown that he has the ability to bridge the gap between vision and reality through operational pursuit. In fact he should create a mini-India model in Andhra Pradesh to be replicated at the national level. His policies should be reconciled at all levels so that he can take the common man with him.
Ramalinga Raju,
chairman, Satyam Computers

Where's land reforms?
All the models Naidu is trying to copy, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, all of them have carried out land reforms, but he has not touched upon it. It is not possible to build any kind of structure if there is tension in the social structure. The distribution of income in the agriculture sector on which 70% of the people depend, has come down from 54% to 39% while the services sector is at 44%. There are three million unemployed youth and he is talking of self-employment. In the private sector they are looking for high skilled labour and there is no opening for the ordinary person. Thus manpower is getting lumpenised.

Pure magic
I had very little interaction with Chandrababu Naidu when he first became chief minister. But as soon as he saw me at a seminar he invited me to spend some time with him, asking for suggestions on how to improve the state. I was touched by his sincerity and his desire to do something for the state. "There is magic in the state of Andhra Pradesh," was what Dr Mieko Nishimizu, vice-president of the World Bank who heads the South Asia region, told me. Eloquent testimony indeed to the way Naidu has run the state.

It's a lie
Any vision has to be rooted in the masses and Naidu's vision is not reflecting the aspirations of the people. Take for example Telangana, Rayalseema and western coastal Andhra, which is a semi-arid zone. Sheep rearing is a major occupation here and the CM has not even bothered to mention this in his Vison 2020 document.... Not enough attention has been paid to the drought-hit. The TDP lost badly in Telangana solely because it neglected the issues of water and power. His promise of a Swarnandhra Pradesh is a lie.

I some how feel that Musharaff will deliver because he seems to be out of all options and has revealed to Americans that he wants deviate from Paki stated policy towards India. He cannot go bankrupt and at the same time remain popular. He is the right guy who can educate Pakis that the root cause of all their problems is a sheer obsession with Kashmir and that they have to work hard without their vacuous desire fulfilled.

Why do I think that Pak Army has realized that they have no other option? Well, they had groomed Sharif who found that the Army cannot have a role to play in bettering Pakistan. Musharaff was obviously not keen to take the difficult task to his own hand, except that his own fate/life was being sealed by Sharif. So, after assuming power due to Shariff's stupidity, he will simply try to please the commanders, while instituting reforms. The starting point of reform is to educate the Commanders as well as ordinary Pakis to get rid of their obsession of Kashmir.
