I guess you don't understand either. When I go to S.I. "subject marks", if there are no "new messages" for any of my bookmarked subjects, the page that comes up does not give me an opportunity to "respond" to anyone. It merely says "post message". This is similar to the "post new" button on Raging Bull. The only difference seems to be that on Raging Bull the post comes up as "reply to no one", while here on S.I. it comes up as a reply to whom ever started the thread. This is obviously an S.I. oversight.

I truly can't fathom why the fact that a response comes up as being "to Pat" should bother anyone. It's not like I am calling Pat on the phone in the middle of the night and waking Pat up. It's just a 3 letter word appearing at the top of the post. How is it bothering anyone?
