That is a tricky question and GOOD FOR YOU...

Rejoice I know the answer. by the Grace of God

The secret to the parable of the wedding feast !!!

This is indeed an interesting day... First someone said "This is the day that the Lord has made" I could not remember for love nor money where it was... I looked in the bible at Psalm 128 . Then someone said that they found a wife on the "ask' thread... Too cool.. Then someone reminded me where it was found and it is where the verse tells of Christs rejection by the Church and the Jews ( not all the Jews )

This verse is put to the Pharisees ( not all the Pharisees) :-} As an injunction against them. Just before the Parable is spoken.

Math21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Psalm 118 too cool.

Could they have not rejected the Messiah... How then would Gentiles be saved and scripture cannot be broken NOR GRACE RESISTED :-}

I just Love the Lord he is so much Fun :-}

In Matthew 21:46 they want him dead... hmmm interesting :-}

Jesus then tell both: those Who could hear just enough and all of those of us who can hear now about the "Wedding Feast"

I quote:

Math 22:1 ¶ And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,

Jesus spoke in parable to keep many from hearing what he taught... And so at this point... I pray our Father that you would keep those whom you would from hearing through hearing and seeing through carnal seeing.. indeed blind them that they may not know Lest they should turn and you should heal those whom thou hast not Chosen. Amen

( paradox for believers only )

2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

The certain King as you probably know is the "FATHER" God the Father" and the son ??? I can't say really it is just so hidden :-}
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
The bidden were the people who were "ELECT" in that they are Jews.. But there are various types of election. Israel is an Elect Nation but not all Israel is Israel when it comes to Election on an individual and eternal level according to personal salvation

4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

This talking about how God himself has made everything ready concerning the marriage and salvation of the Bride
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
This speaks of taking to heart things as more important than our eternal state - see the parable of the sower
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

This teaches that God is a God of Wrath and not just love and that He does judges both temporal as any fool can see in the old testament and eternally which Christ speaks of in verse 13 below
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

This is speaking of the unworthiness of the Jews in and of themselves and the going out of the "Childrens Bread" to dogs such as I see Math 15:26 SEE IT :-}
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
Both good and bad - Jesus speaks og the Gospel going throughout the world and it not being limited or directed by some inherent good within the person who is "called" or invited
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

Now when this call goes out to all - good or bad - it must mean as well those who are crippled lame and poor. People forget that there was no "social safety net" in those days So we have also BEGGERS of whom I am one
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

This is KEY KEY KEY
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Jesus is not talking about CLOTHING here. Indeed where would a beggar get the 'Right Clothing' Why invite the poor if they need a Tuxedo ??? What kind of justice is the TORTURE described simply for having gravy on your tie ? This is exactly where this story is much beyond the understanding of Children as someone suggested earlier to me
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Alan - Today many claim that what Jesus meant to say was :

All are Called but few Choose

I want to take a moment and speak about the "garment"

Adam and Eve tried to put on Garments to hide their shame. They made them of leaves

Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

However when God arrived those "garments" were as the offering of Cain. And those who thing that "certain acts" will get them into the Kingdom. Acts of good works Acts of the will..etc.

Please remember that Jesus does not teach John 3:16 until after he taught John 1:13 We must learn step by step or we will get it wrong.

excuse me for just a moment...

WRONG WRONG WRONG .. I know that word just kills some of you !

sorry been a long day :-}

Now this is another ( of many ) KEY KEY KEY Verses:

Genesis 37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.

and again: ( and this is a son begging for forgiveness the prodical son )

Luke 15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

This is the too easy... WE KNOW that those who were supposed to be "worthy" were not "worthy" so God "calls" Those whom he knows are not worthy... How then is it that anyone should be surprised if after you invite the unworthy they should not be properly "clothed" ??

Alan NOTICE THIS if nothing ELSE ( please hear what I say not how I say it ) In all of the example I have given you did any of them EVER CLOTHE THEMSELVES PROPERLY ?????

So then The Messiah comes unto Israel but they are seeking to "clothe themselves" see Romans 9:31-32

No wait that is full circle for me again today I have to quote it:

Roman 9:32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

Remember I told you about Psalm 118 I am there again

I repeat GOD IS FUN !!!!!

He then "calls" the Gentiles:

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

This is the CALL it is OUTWARD not INWARD

But FEW ARE THE ELECT This is the INWARD CALL

Those who are Sons for whom he PUTS ON THE BEST ROBE !!

God BLESS YOU Alan and Thank you for bringing out the Best in me. Those who approached Christ Tempting and challenging got nothing. Nicodemus however helped to bury Him what an Honor.

Christ is washing our feet in his blood - How does that make YOU feel ?
