Rnady: "I think I'd suffer from significant stress if I didn't own these stocks! I don't worry about the market going down half as much as I'd worry about it going up if I didn't own any companies." I believe this is THE sentiment now -- people are afraid not to own stocks. There is no fear. There is no risk premium in the price of stocks. I have trouble understanding why you need a 40% drop to cover commission and taxes -- some people buy and sell with less than a 40% swing. As for when to buy? I will buy most of the techs when they are half price. I will buy IBM a little sooner -- say $80. As for your whole list, I don't do this for free :) -- just kidding, of course I do it for free or you would not be reading this. I would suggest a compromise -- sell part of your position. You are a long term investor. Average in and average out. I would sell MSFT here because they reported earnings and because of the decision come Friday -- but of course it could cut either way. BTW, have you noticed bond yields lately? I would be a buyer there between 6.75 and 7%. Good luck.

Randy -- I have no fixation on Oct. 20 -- perhaps MSFT on Monday will be the trigger of the great tech wreck. Who knows. But the tracks are not going to hold this speeding train much longer. When it leaves the tracks, it won't much matter what the 'cause' was -- at 200 mph it won't take much.
