My derivation of an earnings guess.

Using no calculations at all ...

I assume earnings will be at or above 87 cents for the quarter.

And, given Qualcomm management's warning (a while back) to "cool it" regarding expectations of HUGE outperformance over the average earnings estimate, I would guess a "cap" of $1.00 a share for the potential earnings "range."

So, with 87 cents to $1.00, the obvious thing to do is pick some point in the middle.

I guess 95 cents.

I wonder in any "analyst" on Wall Street dares to do it my way ?

Jon.

(using proforma because hopefully we won't have any non-recurring charges and the terrestrial business was sold.)

Won't there be a non-recurring charge out of Russia?

also;
my take on VLSI license: isn't it possible "better" meant broader, i.e. the new license covers 3G?
