Drake, RE: You can't argue with the fact that LU's management has been superb in the past -- why would it change now? Actually, that is a very arguable point. The public track record of LU is limited. In addition, I think it can be argued that LU management has been the beneficiary of outstanding industry conditions, and has underperformed its competitors--look at LU's cash flows compared to CSCO's. McGinn, while certainly very bright and capable, comes from the regulated world of the old AT&T. It is hard to unlearn all that training, and I think that this is where the inefficiencies at LU started.
