bob, i said that cti will probably get involved in patient management. yes, they might follow women with cancer, but i never made any differentiation between those with CANCER and those with a SUSPICIOUS LUMP.

in fact, i have not heard from them what their exact role will be in management. i think they might work with women who have a suspicious lump that requires watching and they might use it to monitor the effects of chemo and radiaton. but until i hear of their precise plans, i prefer to suggest that their idea of managing disease by following them with a cti scan makes sense.

i do know of a well known physician who has suggested to them that they use cti to assess the efficacy of medication for arthritis, since most of it is inflammatory--that also makes good sense to me.

i predict that doctors in a few years will be using cti scans to follow disease processes as well as a diagnostic tool. i would also predict increase use of mri as a screening tool for breast cancer.
