I think he has been trying to give the market a break and the economy the benefit of the doubt. But nagging inside of him is the "inflation picture".

Because of Y2K I think he will not do anything more knowing that a lot of sales were moved up the last few qtrs related to "perceived" Y2K problems.

IMHO the economy will slow down next year as a result of this forward sales situation. It's a one time distortion on our economy.

It's quite possible the Fed will give the economy a few more qtrs before the trigger gets pulled to get a good handle on this problem.

He wants to see more numbers!
