Excellant liberal response! It depends on what your definition of "is" is!

Boomers were raised to fight for what they believe in, because their parents had to fight and sacrifice.

Boomers didn't raise their children that way, because the great social revolution of the 60's was easy. The people who started in the late 50's and early 60's had it hard, Parks, Dr. King, and the others.

But, after the ball got rolling and being disestablishment became the "in" thing, everybody else jumped on the bandwagon. It is a lot easier to hold a rally when it is the thing to do.

Now, kids have opinions. They were taught by their parents to think. Because they have opinions, they don't agree or blindly show up for rallies to "Save the Tsetse fly!" Mostly, young people argue. (Akula as an example anyone?)

It is the negative things that the hippie generation brought that annoys the "nester" GenX'ers. (Nesters are usually the ones with college degrees and upwardly mobile jobs) High crime, heavy drug use, and an overall lack of responsibility are the legacies of the boomers we see.

This is also why GenX is the most conservative generation since Truman was in office (even with our piercings.)
