My theory, No freaking service STILL!! How can you expect to make money when you don't sell anything. In spite of all the propaganda about 'not making the same mistakes' I still contend that globalstar has totally screwed up a timely launch of service. We just don't know exactly why because they are not telling. Q3 1999 my buttocks!! I don't buy the I'd rather have a slow good rollout BS - I'd rather have a rollout period. At this pace we'll all be dead before they get true worldwide service. They are gonna make some mistakes in any case, so let's at least earn a few dollars in the process. What a bunch of crap the 'service launch' Oct 11th was. Can anyone name anywhere that service was available to regular guys aside from Geneva?

Regards, Dave

Other theories?

Yes: coming off the pre-launch hype and getting into the reality of post-launch demand, availability, performance and reliability (which i personally experienced and found lacking at Telecom 99 in Geneva on the handheld units i tried).

50K (fifty thousand) customers by Oct 2000, with or without a leg of lamb.
