I've said it before and I'll say it again: 3 years from ground breaking to production wafer STARTS is crazy.

Can anyone explain the logic of it to me? Look like they started spending money 18 months (at the very least) too early. >

My take is that the original target was to start production with 0.25. They missed the window for 0.28 and now are trying to ramp it as 0.18. But, 0.18 starting in Q2 next year is cutting is too close. Any slips here and the process will be nearly obsolete by the time it gets to volumes (at least for producing high-end micros - could be stat-of the art for anything but this market).
