Les, good point. Also, every article I saw regarding yesterday's CPI number had the adjective "benign" or "tame" connected to it. But as the article you posted yesterday pointed out, last Wed. the expectation was 1/2 of the reported number. But because the "forecasters" adjusted their "expectations" over the ensuing couple of days, the stock pimps could claim "GREAT" news on inflation and mark up stocks.

Similarly, when Dell warns or Intel blows their estimate it is spun as "company specific" but when MSFT comes out with good numbers it is good for the "tech sector" and they all get marked up.

It is amazing what passes for critical analysis today.
