I agree. Risk of downside is greater that upside potential.

Don: Your point is well taken and, in hindsight, we all should have done that before the Camino ship date. Now, as you know from our many conversations here I use a different style than you. I bought MSFT in 91, Dell in 93, CSCO in 95 and have never sold a share during that time. I have sold a little Rambus from time to time though. I know you are either "in" or "out". Well, it takes all kinds to make a market.

With Rambus right now, I don't think there is the real potential of a twenty point drop, while I do belive there is the possibility of a fifteen point run up. My reasons? Well, I do believe for reasons already stated that Carmel will go Monday. This is a psychological lift for Rambus. Sure, a delay would hurt but I don't think Intel would ever again do what they did with Camino. Sony news remains positive (Nintendo news, if true, is factored into the stock already). Camino will ship in some fashion before year end, and from the reports it looks like Intel is holding steady in its desire to ship the Rambus enabled product rather than the SDRAM enabled product, which may be ready to go. For Rambus "investors", this has to be very good news. Intel commitment remains strong.

I note you use the " marks around the term "investor" when commenting on some of us, but anyone who buys a security is investing, even if we might look at each other's style of investing with disdain. Frankly, I think your style has real merit in the choppy seas around the market now. But, I also think we will see a rally after year end which could be substantial. I'm happy sitting on my positions and waiting for it to happen.

Regards, Pomp

Agreed. Just as it was to move to the sidelines when QCOM was fluctuating between 40 and 70 for three years. Of course, if you have no seat when the music stops, then I guess you don't get to play anymore.
