Agreed. Both these companies were farther underway than scmr
is today. jnpr had a first generation, completed product
and several customers walking through the door and was beginning to ramp up in cash flow. Let us not forget
though, that it is in a totally different space than scmr.

For those new to this board, read my post #113

DiB, Similar in terms of actual sales... I read the article about the Cerent IPO being more of a card played to up the ante from a CSCO offer from 600 million to 6.9 billion. Cerent may be a year older, but the Sycamore people have worked huge hours since inception to produce what they have. Brian

dib...not so sure...sycamore's top brass all from cascade networks so they have been working on this for quite a long time now...and when juniper went public, they had only 12 million in sales and was shipping M40 router for only a quarter...sycamore had sales of 13M to williams so it seems similar imo...cerent has more customers i agree...jmho...btw, ive never seen so much buzz on an upcoming ipo...with this one, no need to keep it hush hush, the cats been out of the bag for months...but keeping hush worked quite well for aton and crds<ggg>.
