AOL halted as it heads south!! Initial knee-jerk reaction to aol was to start selling. AOL dropped one point within 20 seconds and aol was then halted. The morons selling never took the time to look at the numbers. The numbers are excellent with 2 billion in unbooked advertising revenues. When it reopens I suspect trend to reverse and expect aol to be up tomorrow.

Doug my take is that y2k will not affect AOL.

Reason's are as follows;

1- AOL is not limited to PC's any more even if hardware manufactures are affected.

2- PC's are becoming so affordable that they will soon be included in a box of Cocoa Pebbles along with AOL software.<g>

3- Hand held devices will be a house hold word in a few months with Christmas just a few short months away.

4- MSFT just announced a 30% increase in revenues and said it was because their was a strong demand for their Windows 2000 PC and server OS. AOL is offered by MSFT.

5- MSFT sited Japan's recovering economy as another reason MSFT had such great numbers which equates to more PC sales and AOL accounts.

6- Wireless Internet is being ramped up now.

7- AOL - Hughes DSS deal - Web TV.

Just to name a few that come to mind.
