To all, item in todays San Francisco Chronicle:

"Cisco Systems Inc. of San Jose is leading a group of 11 companies in making equipment that gives buildings and homes a high speed wireless connection to the Internet. Such gear would be an alternative to installing fiber-optic cable and also could provide a less expensive connection for business than equipment using digital subscriber line technology, which provides high speed Internet access over standard copper phone lines. The other companies include Bechtel Group, Inc., Broadband Corp., Electronic Data Systems Corp., KPMG International, LCC International Inc., Motorola Inc., Pace Micro Technology PLC, Samsung Electronics Co., Texas Instruments Inc., and Toshiba Corp."
