Good points.

As I commented to another person in a PM, to be fair, the problems we faced were ones we believed we could actually solve, whether in fact we could or couldn't. Today the major problems are so massive, particularly the population explosion which causes or exacerbates most of the other social problems we have (pollution, destruction of environment, global warming, poverty, all are basically functions of overpopulation) that they may seem overwhelming. OTOH, I do believe that if our generation were young today, we would be doing SOMETHING about it -- lying in the paths of logging trucks or chaining ourselves to the gates of toxic waste dumps or whatever we thought would work. I really don't think we would be wimping out the way this generation is. But that stuff really is for a few of the old and a lot of the young. Our generation did its bit, it's time to get this one to raise a little hell to make the world a better place.

Instead of becoming another lost generation.
