PTC Receives $5.5 Million Order for Software and Services from Tyco Electronics Corporation; Tyco Electronics to Standardize on PTC i-Series

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1999--Parametric
Technology Corporation (NASDAQ:PMTC) today announced that it has
received a $5.5 million order for software and services from Tyco
Electronics Corporation, the world's leading supplier of electrical
and electronic connection devices. With this order, the Harrisburg,
Pa. based division of Tyco International Ltd., will standardize on PTC
i-Series product development design automation technology including
Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/MECHANICA. The software, which was shipped to the
company during PTC's fourth fiscal quarter (ended September 30, 1999),
will be implemented over the next five years.

Tyco Electronics Corp., a PTC customer since 1994, is the world's
leading supplier of electrical and electronic connectors and
interconnection systems. In addition to Pro/ENGINEER and
Pro/MECHANICA, Tyco Electronics currently uses PTC's product data
management tools as well as InPart, PTC's Internet-based portal of
more than 650,000 3D mechanical CAD models with over 13 million
technical specifications.

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1999--Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) (NASDAQ:PMTC) today announced an alliance with SupplierMarket.com, a leading online marketplace for built-to-order manufactured parts. As a result of this agreement, users of PTC's Windchill enterprise product and process lifecycle solution will be able to directly access the SupplierMarket.com RFQ Builder (request for quote) and online marketplace, enabling competitive Internet-enabled bidding and optimal sourcing of built-to-order parts across the extended supply chain.

Users of the SupplierMarket.com marketplace source and sell built-to-order products such as fasteners, metal stampings and screws.
